Only Way to 'Vairagya' - The State of Absolute Renunciation

Ever cropping desires and relentless pursuits to satisfy them.

Many wins and many losses, like a never finishing roller coaster ride....

When a mortal soul wears out due to these never ending and seemingly everlasting cycles, it eventually seeks to retreat and develops a tendency to withdraw..., thus naturally slipping into a state of ‘Vairagya’.

All other pursuits of renunciation are mere imitations, only driven by the force of desire, thus bounding oneself well within the realms of Maya.

Learning to be a Leader

Thinking about it, learning to be a leader is not so meaningful.

Imagine if enough or all people in a situation aspire to be leaders and actively start learning to be leaders, they will eventually compete and the might in most aspects wins, not so different from what happens in forests.

Moreover, one who leads must be deeply intellectual and introspective resulting in conviction over one’s own beliefs which then drive ones actions. On the other hand, when one aspires to be a leader, most often, his strength along with his wants, not well thought over beliefs, lead his actions. This only disturbs the civilization.

If we are speaking about personal leadership, I think, when an ideology (whatever that may be based on one’s life path) precipitates into ones core personality, one tends to abide by that in growingly all circumstances. Such one not only leads oneself but also, because of his non negotiable status, becomes a strong hold to many, becoming a mass leader.

If we observe Gandhi, it is hard to tell what he did to become a leader later. It is his instinct to cure the deep hurt he felt and persisted to protect his self respect in all circumstances.

It may not be meaningful to ponder about what needs to be learnt to be a leader.

Consequence of Human Acumen

The fear of death or extinction is so compelling for the life it forced even humans, with distinct acumen, to innovate mostly towards sustenance.

Since their acumen is so uncommon and powerful, it obviously leads to wild increase in their numbers causing imbalances within the nature. These imbalances in turn provide stimuli leaving the human kind busy perhaps meaninglessly forever. Interestingly, during the gaps of apparent win over the nature, the life’s inability to stand still has only persisted in continuous interaction with its surroundings leading to nothing but mere indulgence.

Some for some unknown reason, particularly those who are either not moved due to the threat of extinction or not just interested in their mere sustenance, have utilized the same powerful acumen to keenly observe the wonder of their own existence, an awakening towards their surroundings; intrigue themselves about the apparent gap between them and their environment.

While some among them discovered ‘the continuum’ between them and their environment (leading to the concept of non-duality – ‘Advaitha’) the others have lingered with the gap (leading to the concepts of duality - ‘Dvaitha’).

Either way both concluded the meaninglessness of constant ping pong with The Nature and sought for total dissolution into or oneness with it.

Creativity - Art - Society - Religion

At novice levels, creativity dwells in the ability to stretch ones imagination, perhaps to the most extreme levels.

However, the ultimate objective of creativity, especially resulting in so called ‘Art’, which is always accompanied with the urge to express, would be to device a way to transfer, in true sense, the perspective of the beholder, the ‘Artist’.

Then the debate arises, should the intellect of just an artist be left to influence the society in the name of so called ‘freedom of expression’?

As of now, and for millions of past eras, it seems the nature has caused the spectrum of creative ability among artists and spectrum of intellectuality among artists, only cris-crossed at totally arbitrary points. As a result, societies seem to experience very intermittent trends of both evolution and devolution.

No wonder, many religions of the world are so vary while promoting art.

Intellectual Pessimism - Ganapathi Bappa Moriya - Demystified

GOD! Hyderabad has become the most ugliest and inconsiderate for any kind of civilized living during the last 10 days. Almost all of us are haunted by the insensitive loud speakers constantly blowing noise and not devotion into every household. Most of us have taken at least a few U turns because the route is blocked by a Ganesha, truly living up to its meaning - God of impediments.

Now see the after effects of our festival. A lot of junk will be dropped into almost all lakes in the city. Then the plaster of Paris and tons of iron will be greedily salvaged by a bunch of people who see the commercial benefit but not the cleansing objective. For months to come, each and every water body in the city becomes a disease breeder giving a healthy impetus to the hospital industry (not hospitality industry).

I don’t know why, despite being the oldest religion in the world, we show such childish disrespect to our own surroundings. I have seen other major religions celebrating their festivals with no major residual impact to their surroundings both in India as well as outside.

Looks like, it is our way of democracy which is being constantly threatened by secularism, is only resulting in total lack of objective governance of ourselves. This will only bring an end that is prolonged and painful to all of us starting with total loss of culture and thus humanity.

No wonder it is sometimes intellectual not only just to predict a quick death scenario such as Mayan prediction - end of the world in 2012 but also to actively seek it.
